Sleep Stories (Part One) – The Dramatic Results of Changing Old Habits

I hear a variety of this every week, and frankly it is one of the most important issues for a person to address, or they will pay for it… BIG TIME.

The crazy thing is a person may not even know how much not addressing this is costing them.

Maybe I should say this in an positive way…those people who are willing to learn and to build new habits have made some of the most dramatic changes in therapy I have ever seen.

It was just one week ago, a client told me, “ the next time you ask me to do something and I don’t do it… please refuse to let me come in for another session”

At first I was shocked she had said this…. she wanted me to NOT TREAT HER unless she followed through on what I had asked her to do to help herself.

Then she (my client) went on to explain.

“Three months ago you asked me to read an article and to watch a youtube video on sleep, to see if there was anything in there I could do to change my sleep for the better.

And when I finally did, I learned a few things that I was doing wrong, and even though I had to make a few changes to my NORMAL HABITS… the results have been simply amazing… and I so WISH I had listened to you about this months ago!!!”

But do you know the part she said was the hardest part for her?

It was JUST THE THOUGHT of having to change her OLD HABITS. She is a busy single mom, and that means there are always more tasks to do than time to do them.

Does this sound familiar to you?

How did she got over the HURDLE OF OLD HABITS?

She recognized that doing the same thing over and over would not bring different results

She recognized she needed more energy to do what she needed to do and the most sensible way to do this would be to get more sleep… and THEN… she just did it. She got to bed 1.5 hours earlier each night (by 10.30pm instead of midnight).

Within a few days she noticed more energy, and she was getting more things done in the time she WAS awake!

If you want to hear about her amazing changes look for PART 2 of this Blog coming soon!
